About David Klimeš
David Klimeš is a Czech journalist, economic commentator, and university lecturer. He teaches communication and economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague, where he has been active since 2014. He has held editorial roles at major Czech media outlets including E15, Hospodářské noviny, Ekonom, and Aktuálně.cz, and currently contributes to ČRo Plus. His work focuses on Czech politics, media, and economic developments. From 2023 to early 2025, Klimeš served as the Executive Director of the Endowment Fund for Independent Journalism, a Czech NGO supporting quality media. He now sits on its expert advisory board. Klimeš is also an accomplished author, having written books on infotainment, Czech media history, and political communication. His notable publications include: Jak zábavné je informovat (2015) – on infotainment Česko versus budoucnost (2020) – on Czech society and future challenges Doporučeno nezveřejňovat (2022) – on propaganda and censorship in late socialist Czechoslovakia He is a recipient of the Karel Havlíček Borovský Journalism Award (2018) and has been nominated multiple times for the Czech Journalism Prize.
